THE RUSH-NEW COMB DUO - USA
First on stage was the Rush – Newcomb Duo who was brought down by the US embassy, Delhi and the NGO ‘NIRMAN' from Varanasi. The show started at 6:30pm sharp, which was refreshing and Stephen Rush on the laptop & carnatic vocals wasted no time in getting some great techno bass bops going on! The crowd that was there loved it and every time he made some weird effects with his Kaoss Pad-connected to his laptop-connected to his controller keyboard-connected to his mixer – the crowd went wild!
Joining him from the live music end was Robert Newcomb on the sitar. Where this American learnt to play sitar like that was a point to wonder. Then his guitar was totally cool too. Overall they connected with the audience and they were asking for more!

P.D.V - Mumbai
Next on stage were the Kings of metal from Mumbai – Pin Drop Violence! The Crowds were shouting out for them and just couldn't wait for their plug in-check time!! Pradeep on vocals got the crowd immediately and man! these boys really, really know how to rake up a crowd. New drummer Jai was phenomenal – his double bass drum pedals made a permanent imprint on everyone's innards!
Mithun & Vispy on guitars held fort and Rohit on the bass was a pillar to depend on. The incredible man of this band is Pradeep on vocals – his growling never ceases and when he speaks in between songs – his voice is crystal clear!!! No strain, no cracking – HOW HOW?

MOKSHA - Chennai
Chennai boys MOKSHA were the next on stage and even after the small delay to start up, the intro of the Maiden classic ‘Fear of the Dark' just evoked a scream so loud, Leon had no choice but to hold out the mic to the crowd! Don't know what it is with Maiden songs – everyone know even the guitar licks!! To put it short, the momentum never dipped after and Moksha proved that they were the epitome of rock in Chennai!! Christy was at his phenomenal best, Allen held fort, new bassy Mike and drummer Willy were too cool and of course Timmy on the keys gave that edge for all their ‘Europe' and ‘Deep Purple' songs. When Leon mentioned that they were 10 years old as a band, it brought pride to every listener. Then he mentioned that the Unwind Center has been around for
7 years and they have played at the Unwind every year!
