Where do we make a difference? Why should you opt for the fast lane?

The fast lane course is all about learning an instrument within a span of 6 months.
It's not a lengthy process with an ambiguous time frame. It's about the practical side of learning and experimenting with the instrument.

Here the tutor's teach the instrument and not just the rudiment's of good music notations but know how's of contemporary music styles and fine tunes one's skills.

How Fast?!?

Over a period of six months with 3 modules (a module for 2 months) fast lane courses are conducted once a week for an hour and 30 minutes. The rest of the week is left to the students to practice and perfect to their best the lessons taught. After all, practice makes perfect.

MODULES:

The fast lane courses are broken down into 3 modules. Each module is for a period of two months.

Module 1:
The students at this elementary level are:

  • taught the 'know-how's' of the instrument
  • introduced to the different styles of playing
  • run through the basic techniques of the instrument
  • and, concentrate on observing the instrument.

Module 2:
Once done with the first module, the second takes a sharp turn toward playing serious music. The student learns how to derive music scales on their instruments - theoretically and practically.

Module 3:
At this level, a student is ready to step into the realm of advanced playing and to know what it is to play professional. Band dynamics, the finer techniques of playing better and more importantly, unwritten tricks of the trade, complete this module's curriculum. The outcome- one more fish into the ocean of music.

ADVANCED LEVEL COURSES:

The Unwind School offers advanced courses in Lead Guitars, Bass Guitars, Concert Vocal Training and in Concert drumming. To be a part of the advanced packages, a student requires a minimum of 6 months of prior music education in the chosen field of study. The duration of the advanced batch is 2 modules.

WORKSHOPS:

The School of Music is just not about learning “the art of composing or performing a few pages of good music” but it's also in the experience of bringing it to life to people and comprehending the essence and the true soul of music. It's about knowing what people have to say and share their thoughts. The Unwind Center has workshops to give an opportunity for musicians to meet others and share ideas, techniques and the practical essentials and know how.
Though open to all, these workshops are especially useful to the students of the Unwind School of Music.

SCREENING TEST:

The screen test is a short examination taken up by prospective students to test their music sense and tempo co-ordination. This helps us to assess the student individually in terms of their influences and natural ear for music. The taker must score a minimum of 6.5 to join the school. If the taker scores below 6.5 and above 3.0, and is still insistent on joining the school, a second and final screening will be done.
